At Web Team Adelaide, we invite and encourage you to let us register your domain names on your behalf.

The reasons we do this are many-fold.

Is it the right domain name for you?

Many of our clients purchase domain names without doing some due diligence, including seeing if another similar business name is registered, whether a .com, .com.au or some other extension is most appropriate for the business you intend to run. There are also search engine and spelling considerations. It is good to start off with the right footing here and make decisions which are in the best interests of you, your business, or being found online.

The Wild West and Aggressive Upsells

When you go through the process of registering a domain name, many providers have a fairly insistent 'up sell' process, where you end up paying for hosting, emails and more which you either don't need, don't need just yet, and/or paying for things which are not the best options for you.

Spam Fest

Once you register a domain name you are likely to get a whole lot of spam from everywhere, offering website builds and many other services. Most of our clients find this annoying.

Domain Name Renewal Scams

There are many scams in relation to domain name renewals. Many of our clients have paid for domain name renewals because they received a renewal letter in their email or snail mail.

These emails seem very legitimate, and often charge more than what you originally paid for your domain name.

When the domain is registered through us, you know renewal notices are legit.

Losing Access to your Domain Name

Finally - and this happens A LOT.

Many clients lose track of login details for their domain name.

This can be very costly in terms of time and money in tracking these details down. Access details are sometimes needed when making changes to your website, your email and some online security verifications. If you register with us, we are your backup - and can access these details on your behalf at anytime, or if needed can resend them to you.

Who Owns Your Domain?

When registering your domain name, we make sure that you are the registered owner, and that your ABN is entered. There are some unscrupulous agencies which enter their details here which means you don't own this most essential business asset, and creates even more issues if you want to change provider or sell your business.
